Elizabeth Easton serves as the Director of the Center for Curatorial Leadership (CCL), a non-profit organization she co-founded with Agnes Gund in 2007. CCL focuses on equipping museum curators with essential management and leadership skills. Now in its 18th year, the program has trained over 400 alumni worldwide, aiming to broaden and diversify the pool of museum leaders.
Previously, Easton worked at the Brooklyn Museum from 1988, eventually becoming Chair of the Department of European Paintings and Sculpture from 1999 to 2007. She holds a Ph.D. from Yale University, where she was awarded the prestigious Wilbur Cross Medal in 2018. In recognition of her contributions to the arts, Easton was named Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et Lettres by the French Government in 2008.
